Based on the $9,310.97 donated to date, we have produced the following impact (according to The Life You Can Save calculator):
• Purchased 357 bednets via the Against Malaria Foundation to protect those living in malaria-stricken areas from infected mosquitos. One bednet protects 2 people from malaria for up to three years.
• Provided safe water to 719 community members for one year via Evidence Action.
• Provided 27 years of healthy life to women, children and families in the developing world through disease prevention, treatment and testing, sexual and reproductive health, and other health services via Population Services International.
• Restored the eyesight of 11 people with curable blindness who could not afford surgery via Seva.
• Provided 189 fresh food vouchers for Rohingya families living in camps in Bangladesh via Oxfam.
• Provided a year of training and mentoring for 5 three-person small-business owner teams via Village Enterprise.
• Provided $1,138 dollars directly to recipients living in poverty to use as they wish via GiveDirectly. An independent impact evaluation has shown that GiveDirectly's cash transfers increase recipients' assets, food security and mental health.
• Provided A$629.31 to support a range of animal welfare causes in Australia via Animals Australia.
• Retained A$273.94 to be donated to an environmental charity (to be chosen soon).
